Revision and Workshop

Posted by Anonymous

I really enjoy revising my poetry. Learning the tactics of revision really helped me because withoutit, I would have probably continued to write the same cliches over and over again. I am now able to take poems that I wrote when I began writing poetry and make them better with more concrete details and visual words to show the reader as opposed to telling them. I really think that learning this as well as doing workshops benefits me a lot as a poet. I am glad that I chose this course.

I agree, Chris. This class has helped me a lot more than I would have previously thought. I knew about simile and metaphor and personification, but this class showed me the correct way to utilize them and revise them in my poetry. After we went over revising and just a few days of workshops I was seeing what my MW's needed for revision as I was reading them in class.

Revision has hugely helpful for me as well. Getting down to the nuts and bolts of your work and making it even better is a great aspect of this class. It really helps in developing in writing poetry.
