I know we all have some difficulty figuring out how to construct our poems, or what we are really trying to say and how. For me, it really helps to listen to some of my favorite lyrics bands. A "lyrics band" to me is a band I love with incredibly poetic or insightful lyrics. Just to name a few, The Weakerthans and the Avett Brothers both do this constantly. The Weakerthans are a Canadian band known for their singer's voice and writing. The band has won several awards just for their lyrics, which are littered with metaphors imagery. The Avett Brother's however are more straight forward with just raw emotion and simple diction and rhyme scheme.

"The stain in the carpet, this drink in my hand,
the strangers whose faces I know.We meet here for our dress-rehearsal to say "I wanted it this way"
I would totally recommend listening to this band and just taking in the lyrics.
I was hoping you guys may have some other "lyrics bands" or just awesome lyrics you'd like to share from bands you like.
