Well after the first day of workshop I’d like to comment on it. I think it will be very beneficial in helping me revise my poems. There are many times when I’m trying to revise something and I just keep saying to myself how lines sound right to me and things shouldn’t be changed. But after hearing perspectives, criticisms and advice from other people, I feel a bit more open to reworking some of the aspects of my poems. Other people suggest things that you might overlook or don’t realize. One main thing for me was that it seemed my piece was a bit unclear, since it had a few different characters referenced. So that will be an area that I have to patch up. Clarity in general will have to be something I work on because I think that my other poems are a bit.. obscure as well. Anyway, I think that the workshop was pretty beneficial. It got me thinking about my writing which I hadn’t done in a while and that’s always a good thing. Overall I thought this first round went well for me.
