This is my first poetry class, but last semester I wrote a little about technology in today's world as a poem. I figured I'd share.

Everything seems gray and dull.
The world with a constant cold,
Sluggish symptoms in a tech kingdom
All afraid of the new or the bold

Where are the questions?
No one asks why.
We are used and abused
And forced to stand in line.

Video games and advanced phones,
Stealing our stares
To leave us forever alone.

I'm afraid we'll lose track
in the endless information.
When do we humans become
Simple automation?

Your poem reminds me of a song I know called "Speak." I mostly connected the themes of how technology is taking over face to face communication.
