First day of class

Posted by Anonymous

So the first day of class I got there maybe 10-15 minutes early. i just sat in a seat, pulled my ipod out and started writing a little "rap" of sort. Here it is:

Chilling in this place and I got to know
How this early I found my flow
Did I pack it last night when I was getting ready
Or was it all in my head already
Whatever it was I'm a use this joint
Even use it to get across my point
See I try and spit off the top of my head
But after a few bars the free flow is dead
I'm stuck pulling a Drake and reading it off
I'm sweating, it's hot under these lights,--gimme a cloth
When your performing oh a challenge it is
Why you ask,  I will tell you this
Your throat is shaking it
Your legs be quake-in it
You can't even tell if you be making it
You go with your flow
And pray god let it be the end of this show
Looking down afraid to meet failure with your eyes
But when you look up to your surprise
You get applause and this will show
Show you and your nervous ass it's time to go
Damn I used my flow to tell a point and a story
Sadly it wasn't a baseball great about Joe Torrie
But of a performance, ya know a little show
And by the looks of my writing it's time for me to go

I really enjoyed reading this!! It captured exactly how I feel when I get nervous about my writing or other things. I'm terrified of failure, probably more than most people are, but you have nothing to be afraid of! This was really good!
